The first ever Midnight Marathon rolls on in our first exclusive episode just for Patrons of the show. Noah and Eliza jog through the slasher’s 1980s boom period: when screaming teens, menacing masked boogeymen, and sick af synth scores ruled cinema screens. 1981’s summer camp slice-em-up THE BURNING shows off the genre at its tropey best (despite the input of a young Harvey Weinstein :/ ) while 1984’s FATAL GAMES proves that too much of a good thing can be absolutely dire, following a troupe of boring young athletes getting javelin’d to death.
One of these movies absolutely sucks, but both of em teach the Midnight Screening team a thing or two about a horror movement’s swift rise and fall. Are y’all ready to scream at next week’s genre renaissance?? AAAAAAAAA
